Abstract:
Sudden deafness(SD) is a common emergency in the department of otolaryngology. Sudden hearing loss, tinnitus, and ear tightness are the main clinical manifestations, which may be accompanied by vertigo, nausea, and vomiting. Due to the rapid development of the disease, if the treatment is delayed, it will cause permanent hearing loss and tinnitus, which seriously affects the patient′s quality of life. Acupuncture treatment of sudden deafness has the advantages of simple operation, definite curative effect, few adverse reactions, and easy acceptance by the majority of patients. In this paper, the relevant literature of acupuncture treatment for sudden deafness in the past 5 years was retrieved. The clinical research progress of sudden deafness was summarized from the aspects of acupuncture, electroacupuncture, combination of acupuncture and medicine, moxibustion and other treatments. Questions and suggestions were listed to provide reference for future clinical research.
