Research progress of acupuncture in the treatment of varicose veins of lower extremity

Abstract:

Varicose Veins of Lower Extremity (VVLE) is a common peripheral vascular disease in clinic, and acupuncture has a significant clinical effect on this disease. According to different forms, uses and stimulation methods of needles, including fire needle therapy, filiform needle therapy, collateral puncture and bloodletting therapy, and skin needle therapy, this paper summarized the literature on the application of acupuncture in the treatment of VVLE in recent years, and discussed the etiology and pathogenesis of the disease, and the action mechanism of acupuncture therapy based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, such as improving local blood circulation, reducing in flammatory reaction and restoring venous function of lower limbs. At the same time, this paper pointed out the shortcomings in clinical diagnosis and treatment.With the guidance of the thought " preventive treatment of disease" in traditional Chinese medicine, the targeted treatment scheme should be strengthened, to highlight the individualized diagnosis and treatment with the characteristics of syndrome differentiation and treatment in traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture therapy.
