Modern literature is based on databases such as CNKI, Wanfang Data, and VIP. The literiture retrieval timeis from the establishment of the database to October 2022. The literature information was extracted and input into the Excel table for collation and analysis.

A total of 120 ancient records related to Bian-stone were collected, involving 68 bibliographies and 184 modern documents. In the ancient literature, there were 82 records related to the indications of Bian-stone therapy, involving 30 kinds of diseases and syndromes. The indications of Bian-stone therapy were mainly surgical diseases, with a total frequency of 62 times (73.81%). Among them, most were ulcerative diseases, with a frequency of 55 times (65.48%), and the dominant disease was erysipelas of 15 times (17.86%). A total of 184 clinical studies were included in the modern literature, involving 71 diseases and syndromes. The main indications were internal medicine and orthopedics. The frequency of internal medicine diseases was 87 times (47.28%), and the frequency of orthopedics diseases was 58 times (31.52%). The point-scraping method had the highest support, and the key operation methods included 7 kinds of methods such as scraping method and pointing method. The operation time was 20-30 min, and the frequency of treatment was once a day.

Conclusions

Modern Bian-stone technique has a wide range of clinical applications and various operating techniques. It is simple and inexpensive, and is worthy of in-depth excavation and application promotion.
