Abstract:

Objective

To observe the clinical effect of the treatment of hip epithelial nerve pressure syndrome with the therapy of ultrastructural acupotomy.

Methods

A total of 120 cases of gluteal nerve compression syndrome admitted from June 2015 to August 2017 in Fuyang were randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group with 60 cases in each group. In the treatment group, there were 38 male cases and 22 female cases, with an average age of (41.30±5.75), average period of (5.40±2.30) months being ill, while 43 male cases and 17 female cases were included in the control group, patients aging average (42.70±7.85) and being sick for (6.80±3.10) months. In the treatment group the ultrastructural acupotomy was applied to the tend on knots in the waist and the hip of patients served as the therapy for ease, combined with massage and hot compress with herbal medicine. The control group was given acupuncture on the same positions with filiform needles, combined with massage and hot compress with herbal medicine. The lower back pain assessment scale (JOA) was used to evaluate the curative efficacy before and after treatment. The clinical efficacy of the 2 groups was compared with rank sum test.Paired t-test was used to compare the JOA scores before and after treatment in the 2 groups. Two independent samples of t-test were used to compare the JOA scores before and after treatment in the 2 groups.

Results

The difference of JOA scores was statistically significant between the treatment group before and after treatment and the 2 groups after treatment(t=47.49, 19.72, 13.65, all P<0.05). After a course of treatment, the total effective rate of the treatment group was 93.33% (56/60), while the total effective rate of the control group was 76.67% (46/60). The 2 group showed a statistically significant difference (Z=2.731, P<0.05).

Conclusion

The treatment of hip epithelial nerve compression syndrome with ultrastructural acupotomyis effective and worthy of clinical popularization.
