Academician Shi Xue-min:acupun cture treatment for multiple sclerosis

Abstract:

Multiple sclerosis(MS)has a very complex etiology,high relapse rate and high disability.The pathogenesis of MS is unclear.There is no effective treatment so far.In China,MS incidence has increased year by year.Recently clinical practice has proved that Chinese medicine can effectively improve neurological symptoms of MS,regulate immune function,relieve recurrence of symptoms,reduce the number ofattacks and make up for the lack of Western medicine treatment,which shows that MS is a dominant disease of traditional Chinese medicine.The incidence of MS is closely related to brain,stomach,liver and kidney and du meridian.Academician Shi Xue Min is very experienced in using XingNao KaiQiao acupuncture therapy combined with Hua Tuo jiaji acupoint to treatmultiple sclerosis.This article introduces the experience of acupuncture treatmentfor multiple sclerosis,providing a reference forcolleagues.
