Abstract:

Objective

To investigate the therapeutic effect of traditional Chinese medicine combined with acupuncture treatment on acute gouty arthritis(AGA)rat model during the different stages and the mechanism thereof.

Methods

Ninety-six rats were randomly divided into blank group, model group, treatment group and control group. The rat model of AGA was established in the last three groups of rats. The treatment of traditional Chinese medicine combined with acupuncture was given after 3 hours.Colchicin was given to control group. The expression levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and heat shock protein(HSP)-70 in synovial tissues were detected by ELISA and immunohistochemistry methods after 1,3 and 5d treatment. Results were compared between four groups.SPSS 13.0 software was used.One-way analysis of variance was used in multiple comparison and LSD-t test was used for two-group comparison.

Results

(1)The level of TNF-α was significantly higher in model group than that in treatment group and control group(F=7.213,P﹤0.01).There was no significant difference in the level of TNF-α between treatment group and control group(P﹥0.05).(2)The expression level of HSP-70 was significantly higher in treatment group and control group than that of model group(F=62.378,P﹤0.01).There was no significant difference in the level of HSP-70 between treatment group and control group(P﹥0.05).

Conclusion

Traditional Chinese medicine combined with acupuncture treatment therapy on AGA in rat model has significant therapeutic effect in AGA rat model, and which is suitable for clinical application.
