Explanation on International Standardized Manipulations of Chinese Medicine Xingnao Kaiqiao Acupuncture for Stroke

Abstract:

The International Standardized Manipulations of Chinese Medicine Xingnao Kaiqiao Acupuncture for Stroke was officially published as a standard of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies in 2021. The importance of standardization, the main content and important cautions are introduced briefly in this paper. This paper standardized the treatment principles, scope of application, acupoint combinations, operational steps and requirements of Xingnao Kaiqiao acupuncture for stroke. Additionally, this paper elucidated the key points of the standardization customization process, the important cautions in clinical practices and states the experiences of establishing the international standard. This paper explained the significance of the pathogenesis of stroke as " the orifice is closed, the spirit is hidden, and the spirit does not guide the qi" , and emphasized academician Shi Xuemin′s inheritance and innovation of acupuncture reinforcing and draining technique, so as to make the acupuncture therapy more standardized and operable, in order to provide convenience for clinical use in acupuncturists.
