Abstract:

Acupuncture treatment of ataxia is simple and effective.At present, acupuncture points for ataxia are mainly selected from the head-occipital acupoints, because the occipital area is the anatomical projection area of the cerebellum on the scalp.Acupuncture in this area is believed to stimulate cerebellar function and promote the recovery of cerebellar nerve cells, thereby improving clinical symptoms.The main acupuncture methods are cluster needling or row needling, whose aim is to concentrate and enhance the conversion of local energy, and increase the amount of stimulation per unit area, so as to stimulate meridian qi, and exert better curative effects.Acupuncture is often combined with moxibustion, traditional Chinese medicine and rehabilitation training for comprehensive treatment.Based on the literature of the past five years, this article summarizes the acupuncture treatment methods for ataxia and their connections, and provides ideas for further exploring of its mechanism.
