With high incidence rate and increasing trend year by year， chronic kidney disease（CKD） is very easy to develop to end-stage renal disease with poor prognosis， which increases the economic burden of patients and society. And its digestive system symptoms such as anorexia， abdominal distension and constipation have afflicted many patients. It has profound clinical and socio-economic significance to seek a noninvasive， rare adverse reactions and low-cost clinical treatment. Research shows that point ST36（Zusanli） has a certain clinical value in alleviating digestive system diseases， and some relevant mechanisms have been confirmed in basic experiments and clinical studies. Connotation of traditional Chinese medicine theory and modern research about the curative effect were expounded for the treatment progress of point ST36 on delaying CKD and alleviating digestive system symptoms. It provides a theoretical basis for the clinical application of the point ST36 in delaying the progress of CKD and alleviating digestive system symptoms.
