Research progress of acupuncture in the treatment of varicose veins

Abstract:

Varicose veins of lower extremity is one of the most common peripheral vascular diseases，the etiology of which is complex，and with a variety of treatment methods.Acupuncture therapy has its unique advantages in the treatment of varicose veins.Acupuncture can effectively reduce venous dilatation，edema，ulcers and other clinical manifestations of varicose veins in patients.Acupuncture has more advantages in improve patients'subjective symptoms and their mental state，and improve the life quality of patients.In this paper，we reviewed the literature on the varicose vein of lower extremities treated with acupuncture，and summarized the etiology and pathogenesis and common clinical acupuncture treatment methods.At the same time we also discuss the problems existing in the current researches and the countermeasures.
