Abstract:
Objective
To observe the clinical therapeutic effects of acupuncture, bloodletting combined with acupoint injection for stubborn facial paralysis.
Methods
Thirty-six patients, twenty male and sixteen female, with intractable facial paralysis were selected in Yanzhou traditional Chinese acupuncture clinic from June 2011 to June 2014. In these 36 patients, the youngest was 23 years old and the biggest was 60 years old; the shortest course of disease was 2 months and the longest was 3 and a half months. All 36 patients were treated with acupuncture, bloodletting combined with acupoint injection for three months. The clinical therapeutic effects were observed after three-month treatment.
Results
Among 36 patients, six cases were cured, 8 cases were marked effective, 10 cases were effective and 2 cases were ineffective. The total effective rate was 94.4% (34/36).
Conclusion
Acupuncture, bloodletting with acupoint injection has significant clinical therapeutic effects in the treatment of intractable facial paralysis,which is worthy of clinical popularization.
