Abstract:

Peripheral facial paralysis is a peripheral facial muscle spasm caused by non-specific inflammation of the facial nerve inside the stem. Acupuncture treatment is often used in clinical practice to improve the clinical cure rate and reduce the occurrence of sequelae. Fire needle is a kind of treatment that has the dual functions of needle and moxibustion. Because of its superiority of being " simple, easy, cheap and effective" , it provides a new opportunity for the treatment of facial paralysis. On the one hand, it stimulates yang, removes cold pathogen, and restores the function of facial muscles. On the other hand, it accelerates local blood circulation as well as metabolism, and stimulates its absorption of necrotic tissue. It has been clinically proven that the combination of acupuncture and fire needle to treat peripheral facial paralysis can synergistically promote the recovery of facial muscle function and improve the efficacy. Two cases are shared in this paper.
