Abstract:

Academician Shi Xuemin，a master of traditional Chinese medicine，proposed that the etiology and pathogenesis of dysphagia after stroke is “ blockage of orifices，concealment of the spirit，spirit failing to guide qi，and obstruction of the passages and orifices＂.He put forward the treatment principle of＂regulating the spirit to guide qi，nourishing the three-yin meridians，unblocking passages and opening orifices”，and established the acupuncture method of “Tongguan Liqiao” which has shown remarkable clinical efficacy.Professor Du Yuzheng studied under Academician Shi Xuemin.In his long-term practice，he has deeply understood the subtlety of the “Tongguan Liqiao” acupuncture method and further developed it.He proposed a personalized treatment for different pathological stages of dysphagia patients.This paper introduces Professor Du Yuzheng′s inheritance and innovation of the “Tongguan Liqiao” acupuncture method，provides a reference for improving the clinical efficacy of acupuncture in treating dysphagia，and promotes the popularization and application of acupuncture in treating dysphagia.
