Abstract:

Insomnia refers to the disorders of initiating and maintaining sleep, which is a common clinical disease characterized by frequent failure to get normal sleep, andseriously affects people′s quality of life and work efficiency. With the accelerated pace of life and increasingly fierce competition, the incidence of this disease is on the rise.Western drugs have good short-term efficacy in the treatment of insomnia, but these drugs all have different degrees of adverse effects and dependence, so they should not be taken for a long time.Acupuncture and moxibustion therapy is the national medical treasure, which has the advantages of safety, efficiency, green, economy and long-term application.Combined with the clinical application of acupuncture in the treatment of insomnia in recent years, it is found that various acupuncture treatments including head acupuncture, body acupuncture, electroacupuncture, abdominal acupuncture, and the combination of acupuncture and drug are effective intreating the disease. The paper also points out some problems in the research methods of acupuncture treatment and the research directions in the future.
