Abstract

Abstract:

Point BL40 (weizhong) is selected to treat lumbar back diseases according to the line" Treating lumbar-back diseases by weizhong" in Rhyme of Four Command Points (Si ZongXue Ge). Point BL40(weizhong), also named as Guozhong, Xizhong, or Xuexi, is an acupoint on Taiyang Bladder Meridian of Foot, which has the effect of cooling blood heat and relieving the muscles.It is one of the points with special effects commonly used in the treatment of lumbar-back diseases.It is located in the center of popliteal fossa.This paper reviews the researches on the origin of the academic theory of " Treating lumbar-back diseases by Weizhong" .
