Review of YinZhihuang in treatment of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia

Abstract:

Neonatal hyperbilirubinemia belongs to the category of TaiHuang in traditional Chinese medicine,which leads to serious nerval sequelae if not be treated promptly.The principle of treatment in traditional Chinese medicine is to clear away heat and toxic material and to resolve dampness.The first choice is yinzhihuang.Many studies have confirmed the efficacy of yinzhihuang in treatment of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia.The article aims to review the application of yinzhihuang in treatment of neonatal hyperbilirubinemia:modern pharmacological action mechanism including protecting liver and gallbladder,anti-hemolysis and inducing liver enzyme;different administration including oral liquid,granules,injection and dosage;therapeutic effect and side effect and combining application with other drugs(probiotics,phenobarbital and montmorillonite).
