Traditional Chinese medicine treatment of diarrhea irritable bowel syndrome

Abstract:

Irritable bowel syndrome(IBS)is a common chronic functional gastrointestinal disorder,especially diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome. Most commonly,abdominal pain,abdominal discomfort and changes in bowel habit are the main characteristics,which are persistent or recurrent seizures. The organic diseases causing these symptoms can be ruled out through inspection. Now that,IBS is a kind of functional bowel disease. It has a greater impact on the quality of life in patients,although no life-threatening. In recent years,traditional Chinese medicine is used to improve the clinical symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment for IBS has low recurrence rate and few side effects,which has attracted more and more attention. Combined with the current research literature,this study reviewed current status of IBS research in fields of Chinese medicine pathology,therapies and experiment.
