Abstract:

The wide spread of COVID-19 has put great pressure on all aspects of the society. The coronavirus is widely present in bats and is also found in dogs, cats, pigs and humans. The pandemic that was caused by this virus has attracted the attention of people from all of the world, and the diseases caused by it have aroused severe panic. In fact, prevention of infectious diseases is more important than treatment. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has accumulated a great deal of successful experience in epidemic prevention during its thousands of years of fighting against epidemics. Studying the prevention can help to protect people and contain the spread of the virus. TCM has outstanding advantages in the prevention, with simple, safe and effective methods. It is also easy to get materials, and not limited by space and personnel. The experience and application of epidemic prevention in TCM were discussed by consulting ancient medical books and modern related researches, so as to provide help for clinical prevention and treatment of COVID-19.
