Current status of acupuncture in Malaysia

Abstract:

This study reviewed literature on acupuncture and moxibustion in Malaysia in recent years. It is found that the acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine are facing the controllation and transformation of the traditional and complementary medicine. The clinical, education and research of acupuncture are having a new aspect and facing many new challenges, which include physician qualification certification, the application of acupuncture and moxibustion in government hospital,application of English education in Colleges and Universities, lack of research and limited treatment method. It seems to be the microcosm of acupuncture in recent years. The act will be continuing the main factors to affect the acupuncture application in Malaysia.
