Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD)is a common childhood neuropsychiatric disorder with clinical manifestations of inattention, poor self-control,hyperpraxia,emotional instability and impulsiveness. This article makes a concrete analysis on clinical application and efficacy of ADHD from historical origins of blood-letting and cupping therapy.Chinese medicine believes that meridians function as a communication channel forthe internal andtheexternal of human body, and maintain the balance of body functionsby motivating qi and blood, nourishing yin-yang.Once the balance is broken, the meridians will dysfunction in transporting qi and blood, and thusillness will be taken, such as acute disease, heat syndrome, excess syndromeand blood stasis syndrome. All these above accord with the etiology and pathogenesis of ADHD.The therapy of blood-letting and cupping on meridians is able to achieve the functions of clearing heat and resolving depression, calming and refreshing, and regaining balance;thus it candisperse the stagnated qi and blood in meridians and recover body's normal function.
