Progress in research on treatment for prehypertension with traditional Chinese medicine

Abstract

Abstract:

Prehypertension is an important stage in the progress of hypertension. The related studies have revealed that the total cardiovascular events, cerebral infarction and cerebral hemorrhage are higher in the early stage of hypertension than those of ideal blood pressure group. Therefore, in recent years, more and more attention are given to the prehypertension. There are lots of advantages on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in the treatment of prehypertension. Therefore, this research summarized the researches on prehypertension in recent years from the disease names, characteristics of symptoms, etiology and pathogenesis and TCM treatment, in order to provide a reference for future clinical research.
