Research progresses of acupuncture in the treatment of ankylosing spondylitis

Abstract:

In recent years, acupuncture has been recognized by more and more people in the treatment of pain. Research papers on acupuncture published in the world’s mainstream medical journal are increased year by year. This study reviewed literature on acupuncture combined with other traditional Chinese medicinal therapies in the treatment of ankylos Guasha and bee acupuncture, which were used to eliminate back pain, progress stiffness, limited mobility and other symptoms in patients with AS. Clinical practice has proveding spondylitis (AS), including cupping, massage, moxibustion, water needle, fire needle, that in the treatment of AS, acupuncture has some potential and advantages. So it is popular in patients for its simple and good effects. In order to allow acupuncture to serve more patients, in the era of the combination of traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine, the future related studies are necessary for the standardization of clinical efficacy indicators and tracking work of latter efficacy.
