Abstract:

Blood pressure variability is one of the most basic physiological features of human blood pressure. Blood pressure variability as well as blood pressure levels determines the damage of target organs and the overall prognosis in hypertension patients.Atherosclerosis mainly involves large- and medium-sized arteries, which can cause ischemic lesions on heart, brain, kidneys and other organs. Having already confirmed that hypertension is an important factor of promoting the occurrence and development of coronary, cerebral and peripheral atherosclerosis. The role of blood pressure variability on atherosclerosis has received increasing attentions of domestic and foreign medical experts. Therefore, early intervention and proper regulation of blood pressure variability have a significant effect on the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
