Abstract:

Currently the number of patients with gout is increasing. Patients will suffer with severe pain when acute attack of gout. Doctors often tent to give Western medicine treatment， which is a treatment that lacks radical therapy. The Western medicine treatment for acute phase of gout mainly includes colchicine， nonsteroidal drugs and corticosteroids. These drugs have good short-term efficacy but there are major adverse reaction. In traditional Chinese medicine， acute gout arthritis belongs to the arthromyodynia. In recent years， much attention has been paid to traditional Chinese medicine treatment for acute gout. On the basis of effectively reducing pain in patients， it can achieve a long-time therapeutic effect， and with less adverse reaction and low price. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment for acute gout mainly includes compound traditional Chinese medicine （including internal and external treatment）and single Chinese medicine.
