Professor Wang Yingli′s clinical experience in the application of bifengtong decoction

Abstract:

The clinical characteristics of gout are hyperuricemia, recurrent gouty acute arthritis, gout stone deposition, characteristic chronic arthritis and joint deformity, often involving the kidneys, leading to chronic interstitial nephritis and renal uric acid stone formation. Symptoms are characterized as joint pain, local untouch able burning and swelling, joints that cannot be bent and stretched but soothed when cooled.Bifengtong decoction isbased on Professor Wang Yingli′s experience in treating gout after years of clinical practice. It mainly consists of Plantago asiatica, Smilax glabra, white mustard, Gardenia jasminoides, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, stemmed rice and licorice. Bifengtong decoction can significantly improve joint pain and swelling, reduce uric acid and recurrence.
