Abstract:

Constipation is one of the most common complications after stroke, which not only affects the quality of life of patients, but also causes the rise of blood pressure due to the patient′s forced defecation, leading to stroke again, or even sudden death. Clinical attention should be paid to the treatment of constipation after stroke. Western medicine mostly adopts oral laxative medicine or glycerine enema, while Chinese medicinal herbs and acupuncture can be used in traditional Chinese medicine. Acupuncture treatment of constipation after apoplexy has the advantages of simplicity and inexpensiveness. " Tongren Shunqi(Unblocking the conception vessel and Regulating qi)acupuncture" is the experience summary of the long-term clinical practice of Doctor He Jun. The selected acupoints are mainly located in the conception vessel, which have the function of regulating qi and conditioning sanjiao. It can treat a variety of diseases and has good curative effect on constipation after stroke. This paper discusses the therapeutic effect of " Tongren Shunqi acupuncture" on post-stroke constipation from three aspects: the understanding of post-stroke constipation in Chinese and Western medicine, Tongren Shunqi acupuncture and clinical cases.
