Abstract:

Objective

To explore the application of acupuncture and apply the meridians of the acupoints in Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion(Zhenjiu Dacheng).

Methods

Acupuncture and moxibustion prescriptions in the book were selected, while comparing the traditional Chinese medicine prescriptions, and prescription metrology was used to compare the frequency, ratio, intensity and the intensity of the acupuncture points.

Results

218 points of 14 meridians were used for 3 598 times; 19 extra-points for 112 times; 33 acupoints beyond meridians for 73 times. The largest number of acupoints were used in the bladder meridian, with the largest number of acupoints used, the most total acupoints, and the highest intensity of acupoints application (1.0); The highest ratio of acupoints was 0.79 in the governor channel, followed by the heart and pericardium meridian (0.78). The highest spleen meridians (0.31) were in the intensity of the acupuncture acupoints, followed by the large intestine meridian (0.28), and the lowest in the stomach meridian (0.09). In terms of the application of the single point of the various meridians, the application frequency of point LI4(hegu)was the highest (187), with the order of point SP6 (sanyinjiao) (105), point LI11 (quchi) (89), point BL40(weizhong)(82) and point DU20(baihui)(72).

Conclusion

By analyzing the prescriptions in Compendium of Acupuncture and Moxibustion(Zhenjiu Dacheng)with the method of prescription metrology, this paper can objectively summarize the experience of ancient doctors and provide effective reference for studying the theory of meridian acupoints and clinical application of acupuncture and moxibustion, and can also be used as reference for other literature research.
