Abstract:
Objective
To observe the curative effect of cutaneous needling with music on chronic fatigue syndrome(CFS),and to put forward a new comprehensive therapy of cutaneous needling with music.
Methods
A total of 20 cases with CFSwere selected in department of acupuncture,First Teaching Hospital of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from September to October 2016,who met the diagnostic criteria and the inclusion criteria of this study.All the patients were treated by the comprehensive therapy of cutaneous needling with the five-elements music Gaoshan Liushui High Mountains and Flowing Water,and the treatment lasted half an hour each day for two weeks as one treatment course.Scores of fatigue visual analogue scale(VAS),fatigue scale(FS-14),clinical symptom scale and the MOS36-item short-form health survey(SF-36)were used as observation indexes between pre and post treatment.
Results
After treatment,Values of fatigue VAS scores,FS-14 scores and clinical symptom scores were significantly lower compared with before treatment,and fatigue symptoms were significantly relieved in patients(t=7.92,5.42,4.698,all P<0.05).The values of SF-36 scores were significantly higher after treatment than before treatment,and the quality of life in patients was significantly improved(t=-6.457,P<0.05).After treatment,the total effective rate in the evaluation of clinical symptoms of TCM was 75%(15/20),which was clinical significance.
Conclusion
The comprehensive therapy of cutaneous needling with music can improve the fatigue symptoms and improve the quality of life in patients with CFS.
