Progress in traditional Chinese medicine for finger spasm after stroke

Abstract:

Finger spasm is the major movement disorder after stroke.Fingers have larger cortical projection area as the tool of fine and complex motion.Their functional recovery are relatively difficult,which seriously affects the quality of life in patients and limited their affected hand to learn voluntary movement.This study summarized the relevant clinical reports about the etiology and pathogenesis,and the acupuncture treatment for finger spasm after stroke in five years,including drug therapy,acupuncture therapy and other comprehensive therapies.The effects of acupuncture in treating finger spasm after stroke were mainly reviewed from the clinical treatment.The review suggests the broad prospects and further clinical applications of acupuncture treatment for finger spasm after stroke,and puts forward the existing problems and suggestions of improvement.
